Z30 Chinese Bluetooth Keyboard Review – The $3 Wonder?

Alright, buckle up folks, ’cause we’re diving into one of the most random tech purchases I’ve ever made – the Z30 Bluetooth Keyboard. It’s one of those mysterious unbranded gadgets that somehow popped up in my recommended list and whispered “buy me, I’m cheap!” 😅

So I did. For about $3. Yep. You read that right. Three. Bucks. I got it on Shopee marketplace, if you’re on Southeast Asia, you must know the name.

And here’s the lowdown👇

✨ First impressions – Z30 Bluetooth Keyboard, mini but mighty?

The Z30 is a 10-inch cutie. Super thin, super light, and rocking those rounded keys that kinda remind me of a retro typewriter… if typewriters were made of plastic and shipped from Shenzhen.

The backside is rocking a thin aluminium plate, which gives it a bit of a “Hey, I’m not that cheap!” vibe – even though, let’s be real, it is. Still, looks kinda sleek on a desk.

But… if your desk isn’t flat (or you’re typing on your lap), it bends. Like, the whole keyboard kinda does a little yoga every time you type. Not ideal if you’re pounding out your next novel, but fine for casual use.

🔌 Z30 Bluetooth keyboard tech specs (sorta)

  • Connectivity: Bluetooth only. No cable input.
  • Charging: USB-C. But guess what? No cable included. Because of course not.
  • Battery: Surprisingly solid. I’ve been using it for a few minutes daily for over a week and the thing’s still alive and kicking.

Not bad, Z30. Not bad at all.

🧪 Compatibility test – did Z30 Bluetooth keyboard work?

Yup. No drama here. I’ve tested it with:

  • A Windows 10 tablet – worked flawlessly
  • An old Android 4.4 Samsung – no problem
  • Newer ASUS phones running Android 8 & 10 – smooth pairing

Basically, if your device has Bluetooth and knows what a keyboard is, it’ll probably play nice.

How to connect Z30 Bluetooth keyboard to a device

  1. Turn on the power switch on the right side of the keyboard, the light will flashes.
  2. Press Fn + C, the connectivity light will flashes non stop.
  3. Open you device’s Bluetooth Settings and connect to the “Bluetooth Keyboard” (don’t forget to scan if it not appears).
  4. Now to make the Z30 Bluetooth keyboard optimized for our currently connected device’s shortcuts, press either:
  • Fn + Q for Android
  • Fn + W for Windows
  • Fn + E for Ios
  1. Done!

Z30 Bluetooth keyboard will remember our device. It has a nice battery saving mode, means it will enter passive mode when not used for a moments (around 15 minutes, maybe?).

The next time we want to use it again, just turn on our device’s Bluetooth, press random keys on the keyboard (I prefer Caps Lock), and the Z30 Bluetooth keyboard will be awaken from its slumber and automatically connect to our device.

😬 The not-so-great bits of Z30 Bluetooth keyboard

  • Feels a bit fragile – like I said, don’t type aggressively unless you’re on a flat surface
  • No cable in the box – yeah I know it’s $3 but still… would’ve been nice
  • No branding, no manual, no nothing – it’s a bit of a lucky dip. But I like living dangerously 😎

There’s actually a more well-known cousin of this keyboard called “Goojodoq” (try saying that five times fast). Looks almost identical, so I’m guessing it’s all from the same factory (or same blueprint), just with different stickers slapped on.

🧡 Final verdict of Z30 Chinese Bluetooth keyboard

If you’ve got a few bucks to spare and you want a Bluetooth keyboard for casual use, the Z30 is shockingly decent.

It’s definitely not built for long typing sessions or rugged daily use, but as a travel keyboard, backup device, or something to toss in your bag without worrying? Heck yeah.

I’d call it: “The little keyboard that could… if you’re nice to it.”

For $3, it’s hard to complain.

Would I recommend it? Honestly? Yeah. Just don’t expect a magic typing machine. It’s cheap, it works, it’s kinda cute. What more can we ask? 😄
